Isetan Mitsukoshi will begin selling the "DIGITAL LIBERTY ART CREATION" series on March 5th, featuring designs by 11 domestic brands using British Liberty print fabric.
The world-famous "Liberty print" is printed using Komatsu Seiren's Mona Lisa water-free dyeing technology. Mona Lisa's digital printing technique can produce 16.7 million colors, and the technical ability to control a wide range of colors allows for delicate printing.
N.HOOLYWOOD offers a brightly colored blouson (47,250 yen) and shorts (19,950 yen) that look as if they've been sprayed with color on a white background. FACTOTUM's pullover blouson (29,400 yen) features a monochrome botanical pattern and features wooden buttons that adjust to the body. Nonnative has designed a blouson jacket (44,940 yen) and shorts (28,140 yen) with a white paisley print on a black background. Other participating brands include White Mountaineering, SOPHNET., Wacko Maria, Slow Gun, SCYE, TS(S), Soundman, and BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS. The buyer in charge of the project said, "In previous collaborations, each brand produced their products using fabric provided by Isetan Mitsukoshi, but this time, for the first time, the designers themselves selected the fabric (pattern). This resulted in unique items that showcase each brand's unique interpretation of the Liberty print, all printed on the same nylon fabric."
