Hender Scheme and THE NORTH FACE have announced their first collaborative collection, "THE NORTH FACE x Hender Scheme."

Based on the theme of "things that change and things that stay the same," this collaboration will release collections that combine the identities of each brand over several seasons. Products will be developed that incorporate the contrasts between both brands' strengths, such as durability and aging, functionality and universality, and nature and the city.



This season marks the first season for the 2020 Fall/Winter collection, and three shoe styles will be released: the Nuptse Down Bootie, the Nuptse Peel Gore, and the Nuptse Down Moc.

A lottery sale will begin on September 16th on the special websites of both brands. Furthermore, they are scheduled to go on general sale at Hender Scheme's official online shop from October 3rd.

The North Face x Hender Scheme's "Nuptse Down Bootie"
The North Face's "Nuptse Down Bootie" was launched in 2006 as a boot to be worn around or inside a tent on snowy terrain to keep adventurers warm when tackling high peaks or polar regions in cold environments, such as high-altitude mountaineering or polar expeditions. The three models being released this time are based on the "Nuptse Bootie" and have been created as completely new down shoes, with Hender Scheme designing everything from the last to the pattern. All products are made with environmentally friendly recycled down wrapped in cow leather that has been treated with water-repellent Scotchgard, creating special shoes that combine the materials that represent both brands. The soles are made with outdoor soles from Vibram, a company with a reputation for its outdoor shoes. The Nuptse Down Bootie features the Vibram 2146 Clean Trek rubber cup sole, which features a sidewall, while the Nuptse Peel Gore and Nuptse Down Moc feature the Vibram 186C Megagrip, which contains Megagrip and is designed for use on wet surfaces and slippery environments.

Since its launch in 2006, Nuptse Booties have been favored by the Antarctic Research Expedition and continue to be chosen by many winter mountain climbers due to their high functionality. The newly released "Nuptse Peel Gore" strongly reflects Hender Scheme's design style. Down is used for insulation, making this a shoe that combines modern design with functionality.

The Nuptse Bootie has become synonymous with versatile functional boots, keeping your feet warm and comfortable from everyday wear to active scenes. Lightweight yet warm, the down is enclosed in a water-repellent (Scotchgard) cowhide upper. The tassel, a Hender Scheme staple, is incorporated into the design, adding a new dimension to the traditional Nuptse Bootie.
