Biscuithead, a brand created by designer Daisuke Hashizume, will open its monthly shop, "EVERY FIRST WEDNESDAY," on July 6th.
Biscuithead is a brand created by designer Daisuke Hashizume, who worked as a designer and pattern maker at MARGARET HOWELL for four years, and then as a pattern maker at COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS for 10 years. The brand officially launched in the SS16 season.
"EVERY FIRST WEDNESDAY," which will open only on the first Wednesday of each month at Shibuya NOVORE, a shop space that changes daily in front of Shibuya Station, will sell items from the SS16 collection, created around the theme of "adjustable." The collection consists of jackets, pants, coats, hoodies, T-shirts, and bags. Each item features an "adjustment mechanism"—either a large plastic zipper, belt, or Velcro—that allows you to tighten sleeves and hems, shorten the length, or open and close the center back of coats and jackets to adjust the overall volume. New tote bags are also available: red and lime, blue and orange, and black and yellow. The shop will continue to open at the same location on the first Wednesday of each month. The second opening in August will feature items from the Spring/Summer 2016 season and a sale of archive samples, while the third opening in September will feature items from the Autumn/Winter 2016-17 season. When we spoke to designer Hashizume, he told us, "I think it would be interesting if, for example, one of our wholesale customers was a bookstore or greengrocer." He envisions a shop with a flea market-like atmosphere, changing the display method and products each time. He also hopes to sell books and hardware items selected by him in addition to Biscuit Head items.
