TAKAY, a Japanese photographer active around the world, mainly working for overseas fashion magazines, will hold a solo exhibition at Bookmark

Jul 8, 2016

TAKAY, a New York-based Japanese photographer who primarily works for European and American fashion magazines, will be holding a solo exhibition, "TAKAY "ECHOS" EXHIBITION," to celebrate the release of his debut collection, "TAKAY: ECHOS" (7,000 yen), at BOOKMARC in Shibuya, Tokyo, from July 9th to 24th.

"TAKAY: ECHOS" is a collection of works that TAKAY photographed with an unconventional approach to two wrestlers he met while living in London. By taking an abstract approach to the subjects at the beginning, the viewer is evoked by a sense of "sex" or "dance." By gradually expanding the scope of the two bodies, the seemingly matter-of-fact depictions of their bodies allow viewers to sense their breathing, sweat, tension, and even the "something" that connects them.

A signing session and reception party featuring TAKAY himself will be held on July 8th.
