Nobuyoshi Araki's solo exhibition "Photo-Mad Old Man A: 76th Birthday" will be held at Taka Ishii Gallery Photography/Film in Roppongi, Tokyo, from May 25th to June 29th.
The exhibition will feature nine new color works from his "Photo-Mad Old Man A: 76th Birthday" series. These works are the latest works, shot at this year's birthday party of dancer KaoRi, whom Araki has photographed annually since around 2012 as a lifelong model. All of the work was shot on 6x7 positive film in celebration of Araki's 76th birthday. Also on display will be 471 unpublished black-and-white works from his latest series, "Tombeau Tokyo," which is currently on view at the Guimet Museum of Asian Art in France, where it is being shown since April.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a limited edition of 500 copies of the photo book "Photo-Mad Old Man A: 76th Birthday" will be published on May 25th.
