A limited-time Louis Vuitton men's store opened on July 6th in the promotion section on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building. Approximately 4,000 people lined up before the store opened on the first day to purchase the exclusive capsule collection. This marks the second Louis Vuitton pop-up at the building, curated by Hiroshi Fujiwara, the artist behind fragment design. The interior, featuring deliberately rough materials, creates a unique space that evokes the atmosphere of "THE PARK・ING," a concept store also directed by Fujiwara. In addition to items from Louis Vuitton's 2016-17 Fall/Winter men's collection, the store will also carry limited-edition "Monogram Eclipse" leather goods, created in collaboration with fragment design. The lineup includes a wide range of items, including messengers, backpacks, wallets, card cases, iPhone cases, watches, and shoes. Limited-edition apparel, including polo shirts and T-shirts, will also be available. The store is also the world's first to launch a newly launched denim line. The concept has been reinterpreted, with patches made from the Monogram canvas used on the bags. Some pieces feature Japanese denim, and the same stitching as the Monogram Canvas series is featured on the inside waistband, while the coin pocket features an embroidered Monogram logo. At the press preview held before the opening, Fujiwara was joined by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Men's Collection. Fujiwara commented, "I've known Kim since we were students, and we've always wanted to do something together. I'm so happy that our collaboration at Isetan has finally come to fruition." Kim, meanwhile, added, "I love Japanese '90s street fashion, and I studied fashion through magazines like BOON. Hiroshi Fujiwara is someone I truly admire. I'm incredibly happy that this collaboration with him has come to fruition."
