Céline will host a special exhibition at the France Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai from April 13th to May 11th, 2025.

The exhibition reinterprets Céline's iconic symbol, the Triomphe, and incorporates Japan's illustrious history and vibrant modernity, demonstrating the cultural exchange between Japanese artists and the Céline emblem. This symbolic journey, expressed visually and conceptually through a dialogue between the traditional Japanese craft of lacquer and the Maison's Triomphe emblem, bridges rich traditions and contemporary art, shedding light on the unparalleled savoir-faire that lives in every creation and Celine's 55-year relationship with Japan. The approximately one-month-long exhibition, CELINE MAKI-E, will feature a film celebrating craftsmanship shot by visual artist Takeshi Nakamura in Kanazawa, Japan, and Rada, Chianti, Italy; a 3D computer-generated video installation depicting the Triomphe and Japanese aesthetics; a lacquered Triomphe art piece specially created by Hikoju Maki-e, a Japanese artist collective based in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, that creates traditional lacquerware and fine art; and the iconic CELINE Triomphe bag, painted in the same colors as the lacquerware.
