Maison Kitsune has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2017 men's collection, "Party With Maison Kitsune." Inspired by the world of satirical comedies by film director and actor Jacques Tati, the collection offers nonchalant, minimalist silhouettes imbued with the spirit of the 1950s. Like the women's collection, the color palette is based on neutral black, navy, gray, and beige, enhanced by vivid primary colors reminiscent of the legendary Villa Arpel, featured in Jacques Tati's film "Mon Oncle." The fish fountain sculpture from Villa Arpel is incorporated into an all-over jacquard pattern using lamé thread, and the protagonist, Monsieur Hulot, bears a resemblance to Maison Kitsune's iconic fox.
Graphics from another Jacques Tati film, "Playtime," also made an appearance. These graphics, along with stripes, checks, polka dots and camouflage motifs, enhanced the look. Natural materials were luxuriously mixed with modern, technical materials, creating unique contrasts.
