Founded in 1818, Brooks Brothers has a history spanning over 200 years, and will be continuing on from last season with a collaborative collection with COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN for the Fall/Winter 2020 season, titled "Brooks Brothers x COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN." This collaborative collection between Brooks Brothers and COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN consists of one blazer and three shirts, and is available at all authorized COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN retailers nationwide, as well as at Brooks Brothers Omotesando, which opened on September 4th.
The blazer is based on Brooks Brothers' iconic Madison fit two-button navy blazer, customized with lustrous leather on the front. This highly designed piece incorporates different materials in details such as the silver zigzag zipper and flap pockets on the front and sleeves, and stitching on the front and shoulders. This blazer, a modern hybrid of the classic Americana navy blazer and a rider's jacket, was featured in the COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN Fall/Winter 2020-21 Men's Collection, presented in Paris in January 2020.
The button-down shirt, synonymous with the brand and developed by Brooks Brothers in 1896 (inspired by polo games, Brooks Brothers respectfully calls it the "polo collar shirt"), also makes an appearance in a crazy pattern. Made from Brooks Brothers' signature 100% cotton, non-iron button-down shirt features a bold color palette featuring eYe COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN's signature checked fabric on the back, and features side zipper pockets and a loop at the collar for a work shirt look. The Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece logo asserts that this is a Brooks Brothers shirt, while the mix with the eYe COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN design makes this a special piece.
