Louis Vuitton held its 2021 Spring/Summer Men's Fashion Show in Tokyo on September 2nd. This marked the brand's first time presenting its new men's collection in Japan.

The show took place at Tokyo International Cruise Terminal (Koto-ku, Tokyo; scheduled to open on September 10, 2020), a new gateway to Tokyo. Ahead of the opening, a special set was created and livestreamed worldwide on the brand's official website. (https://bit.ly/2Dn7zOY)

As a new approach by Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, the animated film "The adventure of Zoooom with friends" was released during Paris Digital Fashion Week in July, and based on the story of the characters from the film sailing from Paris to the world, shows were held in Shanghai, China on August 6th and in Tokyo on September 2nd, and the new 2021 Men's Collection was announced through shows in two cities. At the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, the venue for the Tokyo show, a playful runway was created featuring giant balloons of "Zoom and Friends" popping out of shipping containers and lying across the ground. A total of 125 looks were unveiled, including 119 new pieces for Spring/Summer 2021 Men's collection, as well as six pieces from the "Louis Vuitton LV Squared Collection," a collaboration with Japanese artist NIGO®. Models included Takumi Saito, Hiroya Shimizu, and UTA. In addition to looks unveiled in Shanghai in August, Virgil Abloh's latest collection was presented, including a number of looks reflecting the concept of upcycling and new looks debuting in Japan for the first time.

Videos specially created for this occasion by Caleb Femi and director Miike Takashi were projected inside the fashion show venue, and Miike was also in charge of direction for the live footage that was streamed worldwide.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety and security of all guests and staff, a task force of medical experts was set up. Under the instructions of this task force, thorough infection prevention measures such as temperature checks for all visitors, alcohol disinfection, requests to wear masks, and seating that took social distancing into consideration were implemented, and many guests attended the venue. Louis Vuitton ambassadors Ichikawa Ebizo, Iwata Takanori (Sandaime J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE), Hirose Suzu, as well as Emma, Omasa Aya, Kai Shoma, Kojima Haruna, Koseki Yuta, Sano Reo (GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE), JO1 (Kimata Shoya, Kaneshiro Aomi, Sato Keigo, Tsurubo Shion), Tani Maria, Naka Riisa, Ninagawa Mika, Noda Yojiro (RADWIMPS), Miyazawa Hio, Murakami Takashi, and Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko attended the event and experienced Louis Vuitton's new initiative.
