HOUSE VISION, a project exploring the home of the future, is holding an exhibition called "HOUSE VISION 2016 TOKYO EXIHIBITION" from July 30th to August 28th at a special venue in front of Aomi Station (Yurikamome Line) in Odaiba, Tokyo.

HOUSE VISION is an information and research platform created to concretely present Japanese lifestyles. It holds symposiums, study groups and exhibitions to foster dialogue with architects, researchers, various companies and government agencies, and to share and develop the results of its activities.
This exhibition, based on the theme of "CO-DIVIDUAL: Connecting while Divided/Gathering while Separated," will feature 13 exhibition houses created through collaboration between 15 companies and 13 architects and creators (units), combining technology and creativity. At a time when the very nature of individuals within groups and the collective forms of individuals are being reexamined, the exhibition will showcase "homes" that bring about a sense of fulfillment that suits daily life.
The exhibition director is Hara Kenya, a designer and professor at Musashino Art University who also founded HOUSE VISION. Planning and coordination is handled by architect Tsuchitani Sadao. The venue layout is handled by Kengo Kuma, an architect and professor at the University of Tokyo who was also involved in the design of the New National Stadium. The venue will feature the "Terraced Rice Field Office," a project by MUJI and architect Atelier Bow-Wow, which envisions dual residence in both urban and rural areas; the "Nomad House," a project by Mitsukoshi Isetan and architects Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida aimed at "new nomads"—people whose work has made travel a habit; the "Rental Housing Tower," a project by Daito Trust Construction and architect Sou Fujimoto that aims to redefine rental housing; and the "Wood Grain House," a project by Toppan Printing and Hara Design Institute that resembles a 10.5cm square cedar board that forms the exhibition space, enlarged several dozen times. The venue will also feature the Daikanyama T-Site bookstore, selling books on housing and lifestyles, as well as books related to each exhibition house, and a food truck from the bookstore's second-floor lounge, Anjin. Talk events will also be held daily during the event. Details will be announced on the official website, Facebook, and Twitter.
