ENFOLD will open its first overseas store, ENFOLD WEST VILLAGE (411 Bleecker Street, New York), in New York's West Village on September 9th.
ENFOLD means "to wrap" or "to embrace" in English, and the brand creates clothing with a focus on texture, giving the feeling of being gently wrapped or embraced. The 16AW collection features a variety of reconstructed and reimagined items based on the design concept of "doking (binding) gimmick." The collection features the brand's strengths of three-dimensional, minimalist relaxed wear, as well as a new unisex line, showcasing a wide range of layered styles. Materials are primarily wool, with a variety of Italian fabrics.
This first overseas store, targeted at working women and mothers in New York, will carry the full lineup, just like in Japan. The store was designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, famous for designing and building flagship Apple stores around the world. The store is designed to feel like a part of the park in front of it, and the materials and structure of the playground equipment have been reconstructed with themes of reuse and incompleteness.
