Seiko Watch Corporation will release the "Sharp Edged Series," a new design collection from Seiko Presage, from September 11, 2020, in Japan and overseas. This collection is based on a refined, uniquely Japanese aesthetic and was created with refined sensibilities. The suggested retail price is 110,000 yen (tax included) (100,000 yen excluding tax).

This new series features a wristwatch that incorporates traditional Japanese sensibilities adapted to modern times. The design incorporates a refined, uniquely Japanese aesthetic that expresses the essence by stripping away ornate ornamentation.


Sharp, beautiful design that creates a dignified presence


The sharp silhouette, composed mainly of edgy flat surfaces, creates a powerful shine that adds a stylish touch to the wrist. The contrast between the precisely engineered and polished glossy mirror finish and the delicate hairline finish creates a pleasing three-dimensional effect. Seiko's proprietary surface treatment technology, DiaShield (*1), applied to the case and bracelet protects the surface from scratches, preserving the watch's original beauty for a long time. *SARX075, 077, and 079 are equipped with a diamond shield.

Dial with a hemp leaf motif


The dial features a traditional Japanese hemp leaf pattern expressed in three dimensions with intersecting straight lines. Since ancient times, the hemp leaf pattern has been popular as a design that symbolizes growth and career advancement. The hemp leaf pattern, expressed with slight variations in height on a 0.4 mm thick metal plate, reflects light in different directions, creating a deep, beautiful shine on the dial.

The dial color is a chic shade from Japan's traditional colors to match formal occasions. Aitetsu represents the color of iron with a hint of indigo, Shironeri represents the color of shiny, pure white silk, Tokiwa represents the color of evergreen trees, and Susutake represents the color of brown bamboo.

The mechanical movement, caliber 6R35, housed in a refined case has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, making it practical enough that you can continue using it the following Monday even if you don't wear it over the weekend.
