[SMALL TALK by Niky] From a laundromat in New York

Apr 15, 2013

Nice to meet you! My name is Niky Roehreke.

This is the beginning of my first blog.

I'm currently doing my laundry at a laundromat in New York.

While having a washing machine at home is common in Japan, there are still very few apartments in New York that have washing machines.
So I have to go to the laundromat.

It can be a real hassle when I'm busy at work, but while I'm waiting, I write in my diary, I take a break when I'm stuck on a project, I enjoy the time I spend waiting when I bump into a friend, and when I see all the different people doing their laundry around me, I get lost in my imagination and feel a little sick when I realize I'm using the same washing machine as them. In New York, my eyes, hands, heart, and brain are always constantly in motion, no matter what the situation.

The laundromat is just a small part of it, but I hope to continue posting about the various events, people I meet, and works I create from my life in New York, so I hope you'll enjoy it!
