HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE has begun delivery of its 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection. This season, the brand focuses on the Jomon period, a time of simplicity yet brimming with wisdom and ingenuity, and offers everyday wear incorporating a wild essence. Drawing inspiration from the decorations and designs found on Jomon pottery, the collection features patterns and stripes created by pressing ropes and other materials into clay. The collection features a dynamic and impactful color palette inspired by the decorations on flame- and water-smoke-style pottery. In addition to tops from "A-POC PLEATS," made from finely pleated fabrics knitted using A-POC techniques, the collection also features tops and leggings from "A-POC UNDER," which express a masculine style. The collection focuses on thinner, softer materials for a more comfortable feel than traditional materials. The lineup is rich in variety, starting with shirts in vibrant colors, and outerwear such as collarless jackets, oversized jackets, hoodies, and ponchos. Bottoms include cropped sarouel pants and shorts, as well as new, more comfortable versions of the classic hakama pants, wide pants, and linen pants.
The brand has also opened a special website for the 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection (www.isseymiyake.com/hommeplisse/), which publishes details of each item and an image video of the collection. Looks and other visuals can also be seen on the official Instagram account (@hommeplisse_isseymiyake).
