Tiffany & Co. has entered into a long-term partnership as the lead sponsor of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
This will be the longest-term sponsorship in the brand's history. As a result, Tiffany will support the Whitney Biennial, which will be held a total of three times from 2017 to 2021.
The Whitney Biennial is considered the pinnacle of American contemporary art, and has discovered many cutting-edge artists in the past. The Whitney Museum of American Art is scheduled to reopen in May 2015, and the 2017 Biennial is likely to be the first to be held in the museum's new building. "Through our support of the Biennale, we are thrilled to continue our century-old tradition of supporting cultural experiences by creating meaningful conversations and forefronting new ideas in art, design and popular culture, while advancing the museum's mission of placing emerging artists and their work at the forefront of the art scene and making them accessible to audiences around the world," said Frederic Cumenal, CEO of Tiffany & Co.
