Van Cleef & Arpels has unveiled its new collection, "Sere Volant."

The collection pays homage to a kite fluttering in the breeze. This symbol, considered a symbol of protection in Asia, and its light, airy movements are expressed through jewelry. Seven distinctive high jewelry pieces in particular fully express the kite's suppleness and dynamic energy. The Maison's signature Mystery Setting allows the brilliance of the jewelry to directly highlight the motif.

One piece in the collection, the Mysterieux Long Necklace, is lavishly decorated with Mystery Setting, highlighting the gemstones with their hidden prongs. The surface of the kite is adorned with diamonds and rubies. The kite's tail, crafted with various diamond cuts, is articulated with complex techniques to create a graceful, supple movement.

The jewelry collection also features eight items, including necklaces, bracelets, clips, rings, and earrings. Colorful stones, such as pink and mauve sapphires, are cut in a variety of ways, including brilliant, pear, and square, and are set in a variety of ways. The backs of the pieces are crafted with the misajour technique, highlighting the kite's graceful elegance when light passes through them.

A particularly noteworthy piece is the "Entrée Les Dor" ring, which depicts a kite dancing in the wind and fluttering ribbons in a three-dimensional form. The intricate inlay work using mother-of-pearl in different tones creates a contrast with the gemstones, giving the pieces a lively personality.
