Van Cleef & Arpels has released the new Cadenas Watch Certy from its iconic Cadenas series.
Inspired by the Duchess of Windsor, the Cadenas debuted with the first model in 1935. Since then, its iconic design, featuring a bracelet-like chain and a padlock-like attachment, has attracted the attention of many women.
In the early 20th century, it was considered indecent for women to wear watches or check the time. Therefore, the dial, which was originally intended to discreetly check the time at the time, has been redesigned for greater legibility in the new model. The clasp now features two small ceramic balls on the inside, creating a more discreet mechanism.
The newly released Cadenas Watch Certy features a snow-set diamond on the top of the case. The difference from the previous model is the stone setting, and it is available in two color variations: white gold and yellow gold.
In addition to the bracelet-like snake chain, one of the iconic parts of the "cadena," the new model also offers an alligator leather strap. Diamonds are also snow-set in the attachment part, creating an even more luxurious look.
Prices are 4,350,000 yen for the yellow gold model with snake chain and 4,650,000 yen for the white gold model. Meanwhile, for models with alligator leather straps, the yellow gold model is priced at 3,725,000 yen and the white gold model at 4,025,000 yen.
