On April 18th, Cartier will release its fourth iconic watch, the Clé de Cartier.
It was unveiled at the Geneva Salon in Switzerland in January. Following the Santos, Tank, and Ballon de Cartier, this is the first new collection of iconic watches in eight years. The form is stripped of all unnecessary elements, pursuing precision, balance, and proportion. The flowing arched lines and uniquely curved lugs, among other things, give the collection its distinctive character.
Another distinctive feature of this model is its crown, reminiscent of the "Clé" (key). Its new operation, operated by turning it backward, is reminiscent of the keys once used to wind table clocks. The crown is adorned with the Maison's signature blue sapphire, set in a new setting that matches the height of the cabochon and gold.

In addition, of the 31 models being released this time, two sizes, 35mm and 40mm, are equipped with the Maison's new automatic mechanical movement, the "1847MC," which incorporates the year Cartier was founded into its name. An original bracelet made of satin and polished finishes, as well as a leather strap, are available. Other features, such as the guilloched dial, blued steel sword-shaped hands, and the Maison's name hidden in the Roman numeral indexes, all adhere to Cartier's design codes.
