No face showing allowed. An exhibition themed on Yasumasa Yonehara's "bangs" is being held at Nakameguro Pavilion

Jun 22, 2017

From June 22nd to July 2nd, the restaurant PAVILION, located under the Nakameguro elevated railway, will host the exhibition "I AM GROWING OUT MY BANGS" by artist Yasumasa Yonehara.
At the event, Yonehara, an editor, creative director, and photographer—the only artist in the world who uses the Instax as his primary equipment—will exhibit and sell approximately 100 new works themed around "bangs." He describes bangs as "a device for not seeing and hiding from unpleasant things," and by having the models in his photographs wear them, he transforms them into rebels of the times.
During the event, a collaboration T-shirt between Yonehara and PAVILION, created specifically for the event, will be available for purchase in-store and at a special online shop. An opening reception will also be held on the first day of the event, prior to the exhibition. Enjoy music by DJ KAWASAKI, TJO, and DJ SARASA, as well as a model photoshoot with Yonehara. This is a rare opportunity to see with your own eyes the moment a work is born.
