From May 31st to June 25th, OFS Gallery in Shirokane, Tokyo, will host "Around Lake Biwa Vol. 1: Wearing Shiga," a series of events showcasing the lives of people surrounding Lake Biwa. Shiga Prefecture, centered around Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, is the only prefecture among the 47 prefectures without a central center. While people in other prefectures gather around the lake, Shiga's regions—north, east, south, and west—have each developed their own distinct cultures. This event will group together Shiga's activities using verbs to showcase their charms. This first event, themed "wearing," will feature an exhibition and sale of works by COMMUNE, which meticulously handcrafts each shirt, and Jinbo Pearl Shop, which produces Lake Biwa pearls using advanced culturing techniques. This is an opportunity to savor the simple yet beautiful activities born in Shiga.
