Cheerful and adorable fairies continue to generously express the world of Van Cleef & Arpels. From the first creations in the early 1940s to the present, fairies have colored the history of the Maison with every collection. Van Cleef & Arpels has now unveiled seven new fairy clips that express femininity, drawing inspiration from nature and literature.

The Birth of a Signature
The origins of Van Cleef & Arpels' iconic feminine motifs lie in the graceful ballerinas and delicate fairies depicted in the early 1940s. A symbol of joy and hope, the fairy clip's graceful pose and elegant wings quickly captivated collectors. At first glance, the fairies appear as if they are about to soar into the sky, with rose-cut diamond faces, colorful skirts, and magic wands in hand, creating a striking slender, realistic silhouette.

New fairies in tune with literature and nature
The newly introduced fairy creations were created based on two important sources of inspiration for the Maison: literature and nature. Within the graceful and dynamic world of nature, a signature theme of Van Cleef & Arpels, the Fairy clip reveals the individuality of flora and fauna and illustrates the magic of transformation. The new Faye des Papillon clip, with its gradual shifting hues from pink to purple, evokes the delicate, diaphanous wings of a butterfly. Van Cleef & Arpels' creations also invite contemplation of culture and literature, bringing to life the dreamlike beings of fairies associated with legend, myth and literature. The Faye Vivienne clip, rising on tiptoe, and the Faye Lumineuse clip, regaled in a dazzling dress of light, each evoke a part of a story.

The World of the Atelier
At the Van Cleef & Arpels Atelier on Place Vendôme, skilled artisans known as Maind'or (Golden Hands) continue to pursue excellence. From sculpting the fairy's body in green wax to setting its face with diamonds, the attention to detail that these artisans pour into each and every piece is evident in its many stages. Their combined expertise infuses the Maison's signature feminine motifs with a playful spirit, creating expressiveness and strength.
