Artist yoshi47's solo exhibition, "Monsters in Your Mind," is running until November 24th at the gallery space "studio 55" in Omotesando. Yoshi47 has been depicting the monsters lurking within humans with cute yet poisonous visuals. This time, curated by the art web magazine "RED ONE PRESS," the exhibition features characters that hint at various stories, as well as works with a more graphic side. Born in 1981, yoshi47 began breaking, a type of hip-hop, at the age of 16 and began spray painting graffiti on walls. He moved to the United States at the age of 20 and began working as an artist, participating in live paintings, solo exhibitions, and art events across the country. He then spent a year working as a bike messenger in San Francisco. After returning to Japan in 2006, he continued working as a bike messenger and has held group and solo exhibitions.
