"ato," the brand created by designer Yo Matsumoto, will hold a book exhibition and sales event called "BOOKS" at its Aoyama store from September 6th until October 14th.
The event will feature a wide variety of second-hand books, including those that influenced the brand's clothing creations and served as design sources. Thirty titles will be on sale, including photobooks by Robert Mapplethorpe, Bruce Weber, and Rinko Kawauchi, a collection of works by architect Kikutake Kiyonori, and novels by Yukio Mishima. The selection was made by Ato together with Yamaji Kazuhiro, owner of Flying Books, a second-hand bookstore in Shibuya, Tokyo.
"We want customers to enjoy the brand's unique worldview, which can only be experienced at our shop," said a press representative for the brand.
