A workshop (fees apply) featuring handmade crafts by designers from 13 brands is being held at the TOKYO Kaihoku (Liberation Zone) on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku until September 10th. A different designer will appear each day. The themes of the event are "the joy of making things," "the joy of creating something unique," and "the thrill of exploring intellectual curiosity," and the aim is for it to be enjoyable for beginners and children alike. Niimaru Sango (203gow), the founder of the art collective "Ami no Kissatsudan," which wraps handrails, streetlights, monuments, and other objects in knitting, and whose work has been exhibited at Ryuichi Sakamoto's live concerts, will invite participants to choose their favorite yarn, knit a jellyfish head using a knitting ball (using a knitting machine), and then attach jellyfish legs using fluffy yarn to create their own original knitted jellyfish. The workshop will be held twice a day, at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on August 30th and 31st. The fee is 3,150 yen.
Colliu, who works as a model and artist, will customize tote bags with her own illustrations by freely adding pompoms, ribbons, sequins, beads and other parts. The event will be held four times on September 1st at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm. The price is 3,150 yen.
Other events include "Making Original Leather Accessories" by .URUKUST designer Tsuchihira Kyoei on the 2nd, "Making Caramel Box-Shaped Leather Accessories" by tete designer Furuta Sawako on the 3rd, "Making a Pouch with Original Fabric" by sekiyumi designer Seki Yumi on the 4th, "Making a Decorative Scrunchie" by Sakurayama designer Iwasaki Ai on the 5th, "Making Azalea Flower Accessories" by Sasaki Hitomi designer Sasaki Hitomi on the 6th, "Making Fun Mesh Hair Accessories" by POTTERNBURN TOHKII designer Nakajima Tokiko on the 7th, "Making an Original Flag (Rug)" by Romei designer Hayashi Hiromi on the 8th, and "Making an Original Flag (Rug)" by nico design on the 9th. On the 10th, a "Make Your Own Cleopatra Pearl Bracelet" event will be held by designer Okumura Yoshiyuki of "c.p.koo," and on the 10th, a "Make Your Own Original Tote Bag" event will be held by designer Toyofuku Noriko of "c.p.koo."
