This month marks Pride Month, and Spotify is showcasing the work of artists and creators who support the LGBTQIA+ community through its platform and various playlists.

This month, we're introducing the first-ever "Pride"-themed "Spotify Singles," featuring three emerging artists, including Rina Sawayama, who is currently breaking out in the global music scene. The singles began streaming on Spotify on June 29th.

"Spotify Singles" is an original Spotify program launched in 2016. Leading artists from various music genres record their own original songs and cover songs at Electric Lady Studios in New York's Greenwich Village and distribute these songs on Spotify. Previously, numerous top artists have participated, including Celine Dion, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Niall Horan, and Norah Jones. For this "Pride"-themed "Spotify Singles," participating artists Rina Sawayama, Orville Peck, and Joesef each selected and covered songs by artists with ties to the LGBTQIA+ community. Also, for the first time, the tracks were recorded not at Electric Lady Studios but in each artist's own home, and the accompanying artwork was also photographed by the artists themselves at home. Let's take a look at this new style of album.

Rina Sawayama “Dance In The Dark”
(Lady Gaga cover)

Orville Peck “Smalltown Boy”
(Bronski Beat cover)

Joesef “Thinking Of "You" (Sister Sledge cover)
