Seiko Watch Corporation will release one regular model and one limited edition model from the popular, urbane and elegant "Linealx" series of the luxury watch brand Credor, designed with the theme "A Japanese Journey Through Water," at Credor shops from July 10, 2020. The suggested retail price is 7.7 million yen (tax included) (7 million yen excluding tax) for the regular model and 7.15 million yen (tax included) for the limited edition model (6.5 million yen excluding tax), and only 10 units will be sold.
Japan is unique in that it has a climate where the sea and mountains are close to each other, and unlike on the continent, the landscape of rivers changes dramatically from their source to their mouths. The water gushing forth from the steep mountains upstream rushes down the river with force, sometimes forming beautiful, wide waterfalls known as "mizu noren" (water curtains) in the valleys. In the middle reaches, the water emerging from the mountains onto the plains becomes a babbling brook, calm and sometimes violent. As the river widens downstream, the flowing water shines beautifully in the sunlight, evoking a tranquil atmosphere.
This piece focuses on the babbling brook and flowing water elements of Japan's water journey, expressing them through the artistic talents of Credor and the sophisticated techniques of our skilled engravers.
Product Features
A luxurious skeleton regular model with a babbling brook design theme
This piece expresses the graceful flowing water motif of a babbling brook using two different engraving techniques. Long, lustrous, delicate engravings represent the gentle flow of water, while short, strong, dynamic engravings express the way the water hits rocks and creates splashes. This contrast of engraving techniques accentuates the movement in three dimensions, creating the appearance of a babbling brook.
The newly developed "island structure" also allows the center frame supporting the movement to be transparent, creating an innovative design that makes the movement appear to float within the case. The hour markers that support the movement are set with two baguette diamonds each at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions, while round diamonds are set at the other hour markers and around the outer edge of the movement, creating an even more luxurious atmosphere.

The strap is made of hand-finished foil-stamped leather from KYOTO Leather(R) (*1), a first for a watch. By applying foils of various materials to the surface of the Mississippi alligator, you can enjoy the unique texture.

A limited edition half-skeleton model with a design theme of "flowing water"

This model expresses the rich scenery created by "flowing water" through engraving on the mechanical movement, Caliber 6899. A half-skeleton structure is used in the center of the front dial, a first for Credor, allowing you to see the movement parts engraved with a flowing water pattern. You can also enjoy the movement of the balance wheel, a feature unique to mechanical watches. The diamonds lavishly adorning the lug of the platinum 950 case and the diamonds set in the eight indexes complement each other, creating a brilliant sparkle on the wrist.

Viewed from the case back, the movement is adorned with engraving of a flowing water pattern inspired by the works of the Rinpa school, which boldly incorporates the beauty of nature. The first and balance cocks are adorned with elegant hand-applied patterns reminiscent of foil, while the second cock is adorned with engraving of a flowing water pattern designed with the dynamic composition of dense and sparse elements of the Rinpa school, expressing Japanese aesthetic sense.

This piece, which allows you to enjoy the engraving on the mechanical movement from both the front and back, is a unique Credor product, where beauty lies in the pinnacle of craftsmanship.
The strap is made of hand-processed foil-stamped leather from KYOTO Leather(R). Multiple layers of silver and platinum foil, aged to a dark brown, are applied to Mississippiensis alligator leather, creating a finish reminiscent of the foil use unique to the Rinpa school, highlighting the high-quality design of the dial.

Both the regular and limited edition models come with a specially designed simple black strap for replacement.
Credor was born in 1974 as a brand of high-end dress watches, characterized by rich individuality through Japanese sensibilities and exquisite craftsmanship. True to its name, which means "Golden Peak" in French, the brand has continued to preserve its beauty and quality by applying the skills of master craftsmen to carefully selected materials, from the movement to every single tiny component. Among these is the popular "Linea Lux" series, which offers a modern interpretation of the design features of the "Linea Curva" design series, which began in 1985. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the launch of Linea Curva.
