"1∞ Mina Kakeru," an exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the mina perhonen brand, is running at Spiral Garden in Minami-Aoyama until June 7th. This is the third large-scale mina perhonen exhibition held at Spiral. It showcases mina perhonen's past work and the brand's vision for the future, as it continues to venture into various fields beyond the realm of fashion. The title "kakeru" (meaning "to run," "to hang," "to draw," "to soar," "to run," and "to bridge") is a multi-meaning word. Just like a pattern drawn on paper gives birth to fabric, which then absorbs air and becomes a dress when worn, various elements are combined to create each individual shape. Visitors can experience the passion that mina perhonen puts into craftsmanship. Architect Tsuyoshi Tane designed the exhibition. Set at Spiral, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the future of minä perhonen.
During the exhibition, limited items will be on sale in the showcases on the first floor, at the entrance, and in parts of Spiral Market. A variety of items will be on display that are linked to the exhibited works, from small items such as bags and brooches made with textiles from the archives to special dresses made just for this occasion.
