Emilio Pucci's "Cities of the World" scarf collection debuted last year, and the second installment features new designs featuring three cities: Milan, London, and Tokyo. The collection launches June 15th. The "Cities of the World" silk scarves feature illustrations that evoke each city's sentiment, like a modern-day postcard. These original Pucci designs are like wearable artwork. The first installment, released in 2014, featured cities with Emilio Pucci flagship stores: Florence, Rome, New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The "Milan" design celebrates two of the city's most iconic buildings: the façade of the Duomo cathedral and the magnificent glass dome of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The print's background and frame feature motifs evocative of the marble mosaic that adorns the Galleria's floor. The color palette features a black and white background with vibrant green and olive accents for a vibrant yet sophisticated tone. "London" features a pop patchwork of traditional City of London icons to capture the city's vibrant atmosphere. Classic landmarks like the London Eye and the Gherkin skyscraper at 30 St. Mary Axe form a backdrop, with a black cab passing red telephone booths and English pubs. A sketch of a royal crown frames the print. The colors combine sky blue and moss green, as well as grass green and vivid orange. "Tokyo" features numerous motifs that specifically represent Japan and Tokyo, combining the graceful nature and technology that are symbolic of Japanese culture. Against a backdrop of Mount Fuji, origami butterflies and birds soar through the sky, reminiscent of a traditional Japanese garden. Meanwhile, crisscrossing ribbons represent the electrical cables connecting the metropolis. The colors are dominated by rich purple and pink, accented with lapis lazuli blue and mandarin orange.
