Marc Jacobs creates a cheerful mood with sparkling and embroidered flowers [Resort 2016]

Jun 12, 2015

MARC JACOBS presented its Resort 2016 collection at its original flagship store on Mercer Street in New York. This season, the details and processing techniques used in the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection were translated into lightweight materials, befitting a resort setting. The color palette, centered on black, white, and red, created a summery contrast with the cheerful yellow backdrop created by set designer Stefan Beckmann. Broderie Anglaise (British embroidery), embodying the spirit of Marc Jacobs, was featured on single-breasted jacket and skirt sets and slim-fitting dresses with see-through waistbands, evoking a happy mood. The collection's vibrant energy was enhanced by floral motifs centered around cabochon-cut jewels that sparkle like round candy and geometrically cut vinyl badges of various sizes. They were scattered across a wide range of clothing, including double-faced wool crepe jackets, sweatshirts, mini dresses, hoodies, and long jersey dresses. A variety of jewels were also added to the oversized collars that are symbolic of this season. Platform leather boots in metallic blue, gold, and red were worn on the feet, adding an extra pop to the style.

For evening wear, off-the-shoulder crepe dresses, dyed floral embroidered dresses, and bold tulle-mix dresses with large botanical motifs on a white background were featured.
