Urban Research Inc. is launching "THE GOODLAND MARKET," a new, heterogeneous business model aimed at creating a new platform store that pursues sustainability and sensitivity, based on the concept of "a market that co-creates not what exists now, but what is yet to be seen."
The Goodland Market was launched as a small business unit, like a voyage in pursuit of next-generation value (i.e., a new continent), inspired by the question, "Are there values and resources that are being overlooked or left undiscovered amid growth such as the expansion of the company and the segmentation of business divisions and budgets?" Going forward, the brand plans to develop and produce new products and create value not only within the company, but also by co-creating with external manufacturers, brands, creators, and people from different industries.
The launch is scheduled for June 12th, the same day a pop-up store will open within the URBAN RESEARCH ONLINE STORE. The first wave will see the remake and reconstruction of items selected by the designers from the company's deadstock clothing. The 12 item numbers, planned and developed in collaboration with partner manufacturers for domestic production, will be limited to a few pieces each. In addition to apparel items, the store will also sell used fixtures and furniture that the company had previously purchased but had been lying dormant. All items are one-of-a-kind.
The first step in this new business model is to utilize the value and resources lying dormant in warehouses that have often been overlooked due to the company's growth and the systemization of inventory management. By filtering through "THE GOODLAND MARKET" and adding design and communication, the store hopes to maximize the value of the items themselves and build a customer base that can grasp this new value. Rather than targeting the mass market with large sales volumes from the start, the company aims to be a small-scale brand that can share values appropriate for the coming era with customers.
” A market where we co-create not what we have now, but what has yet to be seen”
” A market where we co-create not what we have now, but what has yet to be seen”It is not an existing value.
This is the place to “sharenovate” new value.
*What we have now = existing values / stagnant physical forms / existing ideas
*What has yet to be seen = high-quality new values / innovative designs that are reborn / conscientious new ideas
