Lacoste thanks volunteers with limited edition polo shirt featuring crocodile and heart embroidery

Jun 3, 2020
Since December 2019, the world has been facing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has brought with it an unprecedented social and economic crisis. In response, Louise Trotter, Lacoste's Creative Director since 2019, designed the limited-edition "L.12.12 Polo Merci" polo shirt. Faced with the critical need to take action and overcome this crisis, Lacoste is launching this product as a symbol of its commitment to volunteering.

Lacoste polo shirts feature the brand's iconic crocodile on the chest. This limited-edition polo shirt expresses gratitude to volunteers by encasing the brand's iconic emblem in an embroidered heart. This is a tribute to those reaching out to others during this crisis. "We would like to thank the volunteers making masks in Lacoste factories, the people who are working tirelessly on the front lines, demonstrating a powerful sense of solidarity and providing support to those in need, and all those providing assistance to those hardest hit by the COVID-19 crisis. All proceeds will be used by the Lacoste Foundation to support the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies' work across Europe and other organizations around the world.

This initiative demonstrates Lacoste's proactive participation in the global pandemic and COVID-19 response. Since March, thanks to the dedicated work of volunteer employees, Lacoste has produced more than 200,000 cloth masks in its factories in France and Argentina. Nearly all of these masks have been donated to local authorities and stakeholders."

"”L.12.12 Polo Merci” is in line with Lacoste's ongoing commitment during this unprecedented health crisis. This act of solidarity shows how fashion can support those most affected by this crisis," said Thierry Guibert, CEO of Lacoste.

Price: 16,000 yen (excluding tax)
