Marni Flower Cafe, run by MARNI, will be releasing new patterns for its "FOLDING FAN COLLECTION" folding fans made from archive fabrics.
From the beautiful archive fabrics used in Marni's past Milan collections, color patterns that reflect the brand's unique playfulness have been selected and reconstructed. Six new folding fans incorporating artistic textiles will be launched as the "Folding Fan Collection." Each will be priced at 7,500 yen.
Another highlight is the MARNI brand logo on the bamboo ribs of the fan.
This collection was made in collaboration with Yamani, a long-established Kyoto fan maker founded in 1713. Each fan is handmade by skilled local fan artisans using bamboo grown in the beautiful bamboo forests of Moganshan in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, China, a region famous for producing fans and other bamboo crafts.
The two-layer fabric on the fan surface is the result of an advanced technique that tests the artisan's skill.
The design, with a slight gap between the upper and lower layers of fabric, gives a cool and light impression.
