New gallery for adults opens at Tokyo Dome, showcasing giant "Tokyo diorama art" by Naked

Jan 13, 2017

On April 15th, Tokyo Dome City will open a new multi-purpose gallery for adults called Gallery AaMo, offering a fun and lively experience. From June 16th to September 3rd, the creative company NAKED will host "TOKYO ART CITY by NAKED," an experiential exhibition showcasing Tokyo from the perspectives of both the city and the art of light. Based on the concept of "the city is art," the event will use projection mapping and giant models to depict the ever-changing cityscape of Tokyo, where diverse people's activities converge. This installation, which debuted in winter 2016 and drew large crowds to Shibuya to create a "future Shibuya," was well-received. This time, new models of the Tokyo Dome, the Metropolitan Expressway, the Odaiba area, and more will be created to create a dynamic diorama at twice the scale.

The gallery will continue to hold events in a variety of genres, including media art, crafts, and subculture, rotating them every one to three months.
