From January 14th to 19th, Louis Vuitton will be selling items from its Spring/Summer 2017 men's collection, created in collaboration with artists Jake and Dinos Chapman, at its Roppongi Hills store, ahead of the rest of the country.

The inspiration for the collection was Africa. Five different animal prints, created in collaboration with Jake and Dinos Chapman, are incorporated into leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear, shoes, watches, and more. The pieces also exude the rebellious spirit of London punk. Kim Jones, artistic director of the men's collection, said of the collection, "Although it's set in Africa, there's a London-like atmosphere everywhere. This time, I incorporated elements of punk. Just as Frank Marshall's photo book, 'Renegades,' featuring Botswana biker gangs clad in heavy leather, expresses the seemingly unrelated fusion of punk and African aesthetics, I portrayed the punk elements through an African perspective. And as a third element, I've incorporated the French elegance that is unique to Louis Vuitton." During the event, African animals created in collaboration with Jake and Dinos Chapman will be featured on the facade of the Louis Vuitton Roppongi Hills store. Additionally, from January 14th to 31st, a fantastical giraffe sculpture will be installed inside the store, and a special space will be set up where visitors can film original videos featuring animals from the collection.


In addition, a reception was held at the store on the evening of the previous day, the 13th, with many guests in attendance, including singer Kato Miliyah, DJ and designer Mademoiselle Yulia, soccer player Makino Tomoaki, and models Miyake Ryosuke and Miyazawa Hio.
