FENDI, the luxury brand renowned in Rome, Italy, is pleased to present a new video celebrating the savoir-faire of its iconic Peekaboo bag. The video features three unparalleled craftsmanship techniques: laser cutting, interlacing, and intarsia, also known as inlay.

This powerful, contemporary storytelling video combines traditional handcrafts with modern 3D technology to depict a journey through time through Fendi's DNA. The worlds of the women's and men's collections come together to create the men's Peekaboo X-Lite Fit, which makes use of laser cutting, and the Peekaboo Iconic Essential, which features Selleria stitching and intarsia fur. The women's Peekaboo Iconic Large and Peekaboo Iconic Mini use the leather interlacing technique.





The video highlights the creativity and allure of the Peekaboo bag, while also highlighting Fendi's savoir-faire, which involves using a variety of timeless techniques to transform precious materials such as leather and fur used in the bag. Furthermore, Fendi's trademark iconic yellow color is at the heart of the video.

Fendi's headquarters, the Palazzo della Civilté Italiana in Rome, provides the rhythm throughout the video, with the vast building beating to the beat of hip-hop trap music.

■About Fendi Craftsmanship

The men's Peekaboo X-Rite Fit bag, featuring laser-cut details, begins with the creation of a leather panel. The back is then coated with resin, and the FENDI logo is then laser-cut. Before cutting, artisans adjust the design to match the selected bag style. Finally, a Pequin striped lining is applied to the inside, forming the background for the front. The interior also features a suede pocket with an all-over FF logo embossed.


The regular size men's Peekaboo Iconic Essential is crafted from Fendi's iconic Cuoio Romano Selleria leather, featuring intarsia stitching. The exterior features beautiful hand-sewn stitching, while the interior leather is hot-stamped with the all-over FF logo. The mink and leather on the front are crafted with multi-stage craftsmanship. First, the base net is made. The leather is then hand-engraved before another layer of leather is added to create thickness. Next, a fur panel is placed on top, and the various layers of mink are combined to the required size. The mink panel is then cut to the pattern and sewn together. Finally, the two panels are hand-sewn together, leather-side down and mink-side up.


The interlaced women's Peekaboo Iconic Large and Peekaboo Iconic Mini feature the most traditional craftsmanship. The leather is cut into strips, then hand-woven through the knotted ends, folded back, and finished with large metal needles.
