TAG Heuer Monaco: Inspired by iconic races
Of all the timekeepers, TAG Heuer has always had the closest relationship with racing. The Monaco collection embodies this ideal. When it was launched in 1969, the Monaco revolutionized the watch industry. It was the first chronograph with a waterproof rectangular case unlike any other on the market and was powered by the groundbreaking Calibre 11 movement. In addition to its bold design, the Monaco is named after the Principality of Monaco, home to the most famous Formula 1 race. This connection is deeply embedded in TAG Heuer's ethos and history, and remains important to the brand's identity to this day.

Many associate the TAG Heuer Monaco with Steve McQueen, one of the greatest actors of our time. In 1970, while filming Le Mans, the Hollywood superstar decided to wear the same racing suit and watch as professional driver and personal trainer Jo Siffert. By wearing it, he sought to embody the role of a true racing driver. He quickly became a style icon and wore the Monaco with pride.
Over the years, the TAG Heuer Monaco has continued to evolve. It has become a true work of art, incorporating new materials, technologies and design elements, quickly becoming a symbol of TAG Heuer's avant-garde spirit. The latest release, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue, is no exception. It pays homage to the great tradition of motor racing and TAG Heuer's strong footprint in the field.

Motor Racing National Colors
In summer 2023, TAG Heuer will unveil the new TAG Heuer Monaco, marking the next step in TAG Heuer's decades-long connection to the world of motorsport. In the early days of motor racing, racing cars were not painted in the colors of their manufacturers or sponsors, but rather in the national colors that symbolized their countries. Each country had its own unique color, such as the famous British racing green, the vibrant Italian red, the German white (originally used before being replaced with silver), and the unmistakable French blue. It was this unique hue of French blue that inspired TAG Heuer's latest creation, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue.

The new TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue features a hue reminiscent of the colors that graced renowned automobile brands such as the Talbot-Lago, Delage and, above all, the famous Bugatti Type 35. The subdials and strap are a beautiful blue, while the hour markers are a pale blue. A striking lime yellow adds a fresh touch and perfectly complements the color theme of this model.

This model's highlight is its stunning silver dial with a sunray finish, reminiscent of the engine-turned dashboards found in sports cars of the 1920s and 1930s. The dial features eight applied silver hour markers and twelve blue dot markers, allowing you to read the time at a glance. Of particular note is the faceted baton marker at 12 o'clock, whose vibrant yellow stripe echoes the watch's seconds hand and is immediately recognizable.
The hour and minute hands are coated with blue Super-LumiNova® for excellent legibility in all lighting conditions. A lime yellow lacquered seconds hand complements this and adds a pop of color. These layered design elements create a harmonious and captivating timepiece that captures the automotive world.

Powered by the Calibre 11 movement, this model's sandblasted grade 2 titanium case is both robust and lightweight. A sapphire caseback offers a discreet glimpse of the movement within. The perforated blue calfskin strap confirms this watch's racing heritage. The strap is secured with a titanium folding buckle and features a striking Heuer engraved logo.

The case back is engraved with "One of 1000," indicating that it is a limited edition. The specially designed box is vibrant blue with lime yellow accents. The new TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue will be available from July 2023 in TAG Heuer boutiques, official online boutiques, and selected authorized retailers.
