Kimono shop with Western-style details and men's shop "Y. & SONS" opens

Feb 3, 2015

Men's kimono shop "Y. & SONS" (2-17-2 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will open in Ochanomizu, Tokyo, on March 1st. It will be located at the entrance to Kanda Myojin Shrine.
Based on the concepts of "making Japanese men cool" and "kimono tailoring," the shop will incorporate Western-style details and ideas to propose kimono coordination with a modern sensibility. Specialists from various fields, including art director Naomi Hirabayashi and buying director Tsuyoshi Futamura, will come together to explore new value in kimono.
The kimonos on offer are directly ordered from kimono producers across Japan. They offer a wide range of kimono, from casual cotton kimonos with stripes and checks to classic, high-quality kimonos with yukisode and oshimasode styles. Brands they carry include "Y. & SONS," "Norwegian Rain," "WANT Les Essential," "FOOTSTOCK ORIGINALS," and "N. HOLLYWOOD."

Prices start from 39,000 yen for cotton kimonos, 49,000 yen for wool kimonos, and 89,000 yen for silk kimonos. Orders can be placed in just two weeks, with the entire process from measurements to tailoring, the shortest time in the industry.
