Daikoku Foods, a wholesaler of fresh produce for the restaurant market, partnered with Food Supply to launch a safe and secure "drive-through greengrocer" service on April 25, 2020, minimizing contact to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The drive-through service minimizes human contact while allowing customers to purchase products, and the "Mottainai Vegetable Set," a value assortment of vegetables surplus due to COVID-19, will also be available in Osaka.

Food Supply has previously only held this event in Ota Ward, Tokyo, and Noda City, Chiba Prefecture. However, Daikoku Foods decided to hold this event in Osaka to revitalize the region, recognize customer needs, and address the critical situation of vegetables lovingly grown by contract growers going to waste.
Sales began on April 25th and are scheduled to continue every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday thereafter.

If you come by car, our staff will load your items into the trunk in a drive-thru style, without you having to get out. This means there is almost no waiting time and you can minimize contact with others. This service will satisfy people who feel uneasy about buying from the supermarket or who find online orders expensive due to shipping costs and currently unable to deliver quickly due to the high volume of orders. We believe this service will also help promote "stay-at-home activities." We are selling "Mottainai Vegetable Sets," packed with fresh vegetables carefully selected by our expert team, a wholesaler of produce to restaurants. This time, we are offering two types: a vegetable set including rice, eggs, and other items for ¥5,000 (tax included), and a rice-free set for ¥3,500 (tax included). As these sets sell out, we recommend making a reservation in advance by email through the "Drive-Thru Greengrocer" website.

As sales in the restaurant industry have plummeted due to the impact of COVID-19, our contracted growers across the country who grow produce for restaurants are experiencing a surplus of produce, and we are facing a critical situation where many vegetables will go to waste if this continues. We launched this set in response to Food Supply's desire to provide these vegetables at a great value and deliver them to customers in a safe and secure manner, as well as their passionate desire to create a "circle of support" through distributors across the country to support struggling producers across the country.
