Cartier finds beauty in everything, even the unexpected. With a keen eye and curiosity, Cartier connects the everyday with the precious, drawing inspiration for its jewelry from the endless vocabulary of nature. The Grand de Café collection was inspired by a single coffee bean.

The coffee bean motif, first introduced by Cartier in 1938, gained popularity throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Jeanne Toussaint and Grace Kelly contributed to establishing its fame. Jeanne Toussaint, Cartier's creative director at the time and a man of undeniable style, found rich inspiration in the appearance of coffee beans and explored their value as design. Meanwhile, Grace Kelly, a charismatic actress-turned-princess, was captivated by the Grand de Café and wore it on her wedding day to Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Since then, Grace Kelly has remained the most captivating female figure in this creation, which combines Monaco, the French Riviera, and the luxurious chic of the 1950s.

To pay homage to Grace Kelly, Cartier commissioned American film director Alex Prager, whose sensibility resonates with the collection's codes, to create a campaign film. Through her masterful use of light, Prager's work expresses the glamorous spirit of the 1950s in a modern style. At the end of the trailer, which follows an elegant and mysterious woman through multiple shots, the same woman who appeared on screen appears in the cinema. In that moment, time stops and the past and present become one.
