Hublot has announced the Japan-exclusive Big Bang Unico Carbon Sky Blue. This model is the follow-up to the acclaimed Japan-exclusive Big Bang Unico Carbon White, released in 2022. The iconic Big Bang Unico features a lightweight and unique carbon fiber case and bezel, giving it both a sporty and glamorous presence. It combines the unique characteristics of Hublot's watchmaking techniques, the stylish design featuring a contrast of blue and black, and the materials used for the case and strap. This precious timepiece, limited to 100 pieces, embodies the brand's concept of "Art of Fusion" (the fusion of different materials and ideas).
The case, case back, and bezel are crafted from matte sky blue carbon fiber, a sky blue composite material. To create the case material, a non-woven microfiber fabric (NWF) is impregnated with carbon fiber using epoxy resin, which is then inserted into a special mold to create the case prototype.
The unique black and sky blue pattern occurs naturally during the material creation process, making no two pieces identical. Each piece is unique, making each one a one-of-a-kind timepiece. The combination of a refreshing blue reminiscent of a bright, cloudless sky and Hublot's signature black is used for the first time on the Big Bang Unico.
The dial, including the indices, subdials, and hands, is unified in black, creating a chic impression that contrasts strikingly with the light sky blue. The watch is equipped with the in-house developed and manufactured Unico chronograph movement, which boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and a flyback function, and its mechanism can be seen through the dial and case back.
The Big Bang Unico Carbon Sky Blue features a unique carbon case and is presented on a sky blue and black striped rubber strap, with an additional black Velcro strap. The patented "One Click" system allows you to easily change straps to suit your mood or style.
