Kvina is a creative girls' unit consisting of writer and manga artist Erika Kobayashi, graphic designer Mina Tabei, photographer Kasane Nogawa, and illustrator Hisae Maeda. Since spring 2010, LIBRO de KVINA has been working on self-publishing, product design, and exhibitions in three languages: Japanese, English, and Esperanto, with a LIBRO (= book) motif. The project progresses through breakfast meetings held several times a month, where members discuss their ideas and dreams.

At this exhibition, parasols created by Kvina in collaboration with Higashi Chika of Coci la elle, a company that continues to create innovative, original umbrellas, will be on display and for sale. Two all-weather umbrellas, each with a limited edition of 16, will be sold, each inspired by two poems by American poet Emily Dickinson: "Hope is the thing with feathers" and "I dwell in Possibility."

As a related event, a "Tea Party to Celebrate Girls' Festival" will be held from 2pm on February 24th, where four members of Kvina will come together to prepare warm tea for the celebration. From 3pm, Kvina will hold a small talk where she will explain the exhibition and talk about the thoughts behind the umbrellas. No reservations are required for either event, and anyone is welcome to attend.

Also, from February 24th, there will be a special sale of popular baked goods themed around Girls' Festival, prepared by Shimotakaido's "everyday sweets shop" Yasukesunfood, as "sweets of 'hope' and 'possibility' to enjoy spring."

The gallery will also be exhibiting a palace-style Hina doll display made in the early 1960s, owned by Watanabe Yoshie of KIGI.
