Hangzhou, China-based JNBY presented its 2013 Spring/Summer collection. Designer Li Lin marks her first appearance at Tokyo Fashion Week. This season's themes are "Jungle," "Africa," and "Elegant Sports." Colors and materials are combined with the brand's contemporary concept. The first half features muted hues of white, light gray, and beige. Gradually, blue and red appear, followed by earth tones like brown and ochre reminiscent of the African lands. The collection concludes with a sharp black. The silhouettes feature beautifully draped and lustrous fabrics constructed with tucks and gathers for a three-dimensional effect, creating a contemporary feel. While using natural materials like silk, the brand also incorporates futuristic elements with foil prints. The brand operates over 200 franchise stores in China and approximately 600 exclusive shops. The brand entered the Japanese market seven years ago with Matsuo International as its distributor. It also has stores in Russia, the United States, and South Korea, and was selected by the economic magazine Forbes China as one of six Chinese brands with global potential.
