The Tokyo Christmas Market 2019, inspired by Dresden, Germany, the birthplace of Christmas markets, will be held in front of the Onarimon Gate in Shiba Park from December 6th to 25th.


First held in Hibiya Park in 2015, this event will move to the Onarimon Gate in Shiba Park in Minato Ward in 2019. Shiba Park is synonymous with Tokyo Tower. This time, Tokyo Tower and the 14-meter Christmas pyramid, the symbol of this event and said to be the prototype of the Christmas tree, will be beautifully paired against the night sky. Instagram-worthy collaboration spots with Tokyo Tower and Christmas wreath-decorated benches will also be set up.


At the venue, there will be food stalls offering mulled wine, stollen, and European cuisine. Hot drinks will be served in original takeaway mugs, and there will also be a lineup of whole pumpkin soups and stews, perfect for the cold winter. Twelve general stores will also be setting up stalls selling ornaments, nutcrackers, and other items. At the Shiba Park venue, workshops will be held every day where you can make your own Christmas items, such as candles and snow globes.

There will also be a full stage to liven up the venue. Entertainer Anton Santa will be appearing again this year, and you can enjoy performances by Anton & the Jingle Bells, a band of unique members that will engage children and adults alike.
