Hobonichi event space opens at the new Shibuya Parco, with the first event featuring Shigesato Itoi and Akiko Yano!

Event Date:2019.11.22-12.08
Oct 2, 2019
Hobonichi, a space for holding exhibitions and events of various genres, has opened on the 8th floor of the new Shibuya Parco. Its first exhibition, "Akko-chan and Itoi," will be held from November 22nd to December 8th.

The star of Hobonichi's first exhibition at Hobonichi is Akiko Yano. Ten songs will be selected from the more than 30 created by the duo Yano and Shigesato Itoi, and ten artists will create works inspired by each song and exhibit them at the venue. Participating artists include manga artist Kahoru Fukaya, ceramic artist Mutsumi Kagoshima, illustrator Yuko Higuchi, comedy manga artist Radio Wada, manga artist Taiyo Matsumoto, knitting artist Mariko Mikuni, chef Shiho Nakashima, illustrator Toshiyuki Fukuda, handicraft artist Bonami, and art director Sebastian Masuda. On the evening of November 22nd, the opening night of the exhibition, Akiko Yano herself will hold a small live concert, and Shigesato Itoi will also appear for a talk. Because the venue is small, the performance will be on an electric piano rather than a grand piano, creating a warm and luxurious, intimate experience unlike a large hall. Tickets will be sold by lottery. Applications are accepted from 11:00 on October 9th to 11:00 on October 15th. For details on how to apply for the lottery sale and the announcement of winners, please visit the website (https://www.1101.com/hobonichiyobi/itoiyano/index.html).
