Taiwan, Vietnam, Switzerland, Scandinavia. There are so many places I want to travel to, but this summer ended without me going anywhere... (!).
Then in August, my younger sister, who was on summer vacation, sent me a message detailing her trip to Seoul, South Korea, complete with photos. It was a fascinating experience, allowing me to travel through my mind for a short time.

I've never been there before, but my sister, a South Korea fanatic who's already been there three times, says, "The fashion, cosmetics, and music are all great, and the shops and cafes, nightlife, and meeting local friends are all exciting!"
This time, I'd like to introduce some interesting spots in Seoul along with photos from her trip.

freckle seoul

This is the shop for the brand "freckle," whose Instagram icon is so cute that I've been curious about it. In addition to original items, they also carry vintage items. As Korea is a country that is advanced in e-commerce, freckle seems to have started out as an online brand, but now they have a branch in London (@freckle_london) and it seems to be hugely popular, not only with Korean girls but also with people overseas.

 AMOMENTO

AMOMENTO is also a brand and select shop. They have a great selection of imported brands such as BASERANGE, NEHERA, Paloma Wool, GIU GIU, and MARYAM NASSIR ZADEH.

 tamburins

My sister bought me a hand cream from a skincare brand called Tamburins as a souvenir. Its antique-style packaging, an aluminium tube with a chain attached cap, is striking. This is one of two types of hand cream called "NUDE H.AND CREAM 7," which has a subtle, sweet, deep fragrance. The interior of the flagship shop is also stylish.

piknic

Piknic is an art and culture facility that opened in Hoehyeon-dong in May 2018. For its opening, an exhibition of works by Ryuichi Sakamoto was held in collaboration with YCAM (Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media). It's a new art spot, and we're excited to see what the facility's future plans are.

 Coffeesa Maria

A cafe. It's in a room in a building and is apparently a little hard to find. In Japanese, "Coffeesa Maria" means "Coffee Company Maria". The owner is an artist called Maria Lee, and the cafe is both a cafe and an atelier. The store is an artistic spot with lots of paintings, postcards, artwork and merchandise on display.

yyyyynnn

A gallery-like cafe with a unique interior, made of exposed concrete and surrounded by glass. Samcheong-dong in the north of Seoul is a fun spot where old hanok houses and modern architecture mix together, making it a fun place to just stroll around.

DAMBI's tearoom

Dambi Kim's tea room is open by reservation only. She also holds workshops on herbal tea blending and tea ceremony in Seoul, Berlin, and other locations, and it appears she will be holding one in Japan this fall. Keep an eye out.
 AceFourClub

This cafe and bar features an iconic ♥♠♦♣ motif. It's a great place to relax when you're tired from shopping, or as a meeting place for night clubbing. Looking at Instagram, you can see how loved it is by people of all ages.

 Cakeshop

Korea's club scene also seems fun! Cakeshop is a rumored club where many popular artists from Japan and overseas perform. Apparently, it's so crowded that there are lines even on weekdays.

 Soap

A club near Cakeshop. This area, called Itaewon, is now packed with clubs and bars popular with underground and subculture fans.
