A large-scale solo exhibition focusing on Fujio Ishimoto, longtime designer for Marimekko, titled "Fujio Ishimoto Exhibition: From Marimekko Flowers to Ceramic Fruits," will be held at Spiral in Aoyama, Tokyo, from June 19th. In conjunction with this, the Marimekko Omotesando store will be hosting an event focusing on his work from June 19th to July 7th. Fujio Ishimoto, a Japanese textile designer and ceramic artist based in Helsinki, has been a designer for Marimekko since 1974 and has created over 400 patterns to date. His popular Onni (happiness) and Kukkaketo (flower field) patterns, introduced in 1975, were revived in the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, once again garnering attention.

During the event, the Marimekko Omotesando store will be holding an advance reservation event for the 2019 Pre-Fall Collection, which features a wide range of items from clothing and bags to home collections using patterns designed by Fujio Ishimoto. In addition, a wide variety of Marimekko fabrics previously designed by Fujio Ishimoto will be available for sale. Some of the fabrics and scraps will be available in limited quantities, including fabrics with patterns that are currently difficult to obtain.

In addition, during the campaign period, the first 100 customers who make a purchase of 10,800 yen or more (tax included) including items designed by Fujio Ishimoto, or who make a reservation, will receive a limited edition Kukkaketo pattern wrapping cloth (H45cm x W45cm).
