Yoku Moku's "Cigare" cookies are long, thin, curled cookies. They're a beloved, national favorite that makes snack time a truly blissful experience.
Yoku Moku has developed the "Cigare Straw," an edible straw, as the ultimate in eco-friendliness. Starting June 6th, the BLUE BRICK LOUNGE at Yoku Moku Aoyama Main Store will be offering a drink menu with the "Cigare Straw" for a limited time.
When I was a kid, I used to think "Cigare looks like a straw," and secretly insert it into my glass to drink milk. Now, as an adult, I can proudly enjoy a menu that brings back those nostalgic memories.
I ordered the drink menu that comes with a "Cigare Straw" (864 yen including tax) and chose one drink from iced coffee, iced tea, or milk. The staff brought me a cigarre straw on a small plate along with my drink.
While it looks like the familiar "Cigare," the "Cigare Straw" was specially developed to best serve its purpose as a straw.
Based on the same langue de chat dough as "Cigare au Chocolat," a cigarre with milk chocolate poured over it, it is rolled out even thinner and then baked. If you look inside the tube, you'll see that it's coated in white chocolate. This is an extremely delicate process, and everything is done by hand. As a result, this menu is limited in quantity each day (about 10 pieces), so if you want to make sure you experience it, it might be best to head to the store early.
By the way, the white chocolate cigarre is not a regular product.
Compared to a regular Cigare, the Cigare Straw is coated with a thick layer of chocolate, so the drink can be absorbed properly and it is very comfortable to drink from. I ordered a milk straw, and the soft texture of the Cigare soaked in was also delicious.
Yoku Moku is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. This initiative is a playful project proposed by Yoku Moku for World Environment Day and Environment Month. Starting on June 5th, World Environment Day, all straws provided at Yoku Moku Aoyama Flagship Store and other Yoku Moku stores will be made from paper.
