Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director of Dior's Women's Collection, is interested in connecting African culture with creative exchanges, and chose Marrakech, Morocco, as the venue. Marrakech is known as a place where the Mediterranean, Europe, and Africa meet, a place of aspiration for poets, writers, and other adventurers, and is also the home of Yves Saint Laurent, the first successor to the House of Dior after its founder, Christian Dior.

This collection is based on the idea of "common ground," a foundation for mutual understanding, inspired by feminist philosopher Naomi Zak's idea that a common foundation can transcend differences and that communication between women is embodied through thought and action.

The collection's signature African wax prints were created in collaboration with the Uniwax factory in Côte d'Ivoire. They feature the Maison's signature "Toile de Jouy," various landscapes, and tarot motifs, beloved by Monsieur Dior and reinterpreted by Maria Grazia.

Based on a color palette of sand, indigo blue, and red ochre, the collection featured coats, suits, pleated skirts, and pants made from raw silk, silk gauze, and shantung.
