Details have been announced for the 96th PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO, a comprehensive men's fashion show for Spring/Summer 2020, to be held in Florence, Italy, from June 11th to 15th. Special guest designers include Givenchy, MSGM, and Marco De Vincenzo, the new brand from American artist Sterling Ruby, who will present their Spring/Summer 2020 collection shows. In addition, in collaboration with Shanghai Fashion Week, a guest nation event will be held to introduce young Chinese brands and photographers. Furthermore, an exhibition curated by Olivier Saillard will be held at Palazzo Pitti, spanning three and a half months through September 29th, including the Pitti runway, depicting Pitti Uomo's 30-year archive as a novel.

Givenchy, on the second day of the event, June 12th, will be showcasing the first men's collection by Clare Waight Keller, who has been the house's designer and artistic director since its collection unveiled in October 2017. On the same day, Marco di Vincenzo will present his first men's collection, having presented his women's collection at Pitti Uomo in 2016. Vicenzo is currently the creative head of leather goods at Fendi, which has partnered with LVMH to develop the brand into a global business.

Also on the 13th, LA-based contemporary artist Sterling Ruby will present his first brand, "S.R.STUDIO.LA,CA." Known in the fashion industry for his work with Raf Simons, including the interior design of Calvin Klein's New York flagship store and showroom, his cross-media works, including paintings, bronze sculptures, ceramic sculptures, and installations, have been exhibited at museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Guggenheim, the Tate Gallery in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm.

China has been invited as the guest nation this year, and will be presenting its collection inside the main venue, Fortezza da Basso. Organized by Shanghai Fashion Week, this project is curated by Labelhood, a retailer and incubator for new designers, and features 11 brands, including PRONOUNCE, which has presented shows at London Fashion Week, and 8ON8, the brand of Gong Li, winner of the LVMH Scholarship Grand Prix. This marks the first time a Chinese brand has staged a catwalk show at Pitti Uomo.
